Who We Are

Our Purpose

We are a welcoming Life Group designed to encourage and equip parents with children in the home during all seasons of life, but especially the busy ones.
We gather each week to share life, strengthen one another's faith journeys, and build Christ-centered relationships. No matter your background or where you are in your walk with Christ, you'll find a warm and welcoming community ready to walk alongside you.

What to Expect

Our group is small but growing, and we are passionate about deepening our roots in God's Word while rising together in faith, fellowship, and service. Whether you are looking for a place to belong, friendships that will encourage you, or meaningful discussions that connect Scripture to everyday life, Rooted & Rising is for you.

LIFE Group Leaders

Glenn & Beverly Jordan

Co-Teacher
Glenn has been married to Beverly for 33 years. They have four children and two grandchildren, with their youngest, Logan, living at home. Glenn is the R&D Director for the Thermoformed Packaging Division at TOPPAN Packaging Americas, after working at Sonoco Products Company. At Emmanuel Baptist Church, Glenn is a Deacon, teaches a Life Group, and participates in Judgement House. He has taught there for over five years and has also taught students from 4th grade to adults at other churches. Earlier, he taught high school chemistry in Cincinnati.  Glenn enjoys learning and helping others grow. In his free time, he participates in F3 Nation and spends time with his family. He also cheers for Ohio State football and enjoys bird hunting.

Greg & Greta Johnson

Co-Teacher
Greg has been married to his wife, Greta, for 30 years. They have two grown sons, Nicholas and Bryce. Greg has worked for Humana Military for the past 30 years, helping administer TRICARE benefits for active-duty and retired military members.
At Emmanuel Baptist Church, Greg serves faithfully in several areas, including as a deacon, an usher, a Life Group teacher, and in AWANA. He is passionate about helping others learn and grow in God’s Word. Outside of church, Greg enjoys umpiring for Diamond Youth Baseball and has a strong love for sports in general.
